The Genesis: Capturing Moments Through Photography

My artistic process begins with the world around me, a constant source of inspiration. Photography allows me to capture fleeting moments, the interplay of light and shadow, and the subtle nuances of color that only nature can provide. These photographs serve as the foundation of my art, a snapshot in time that beckons to be transformed.

Watercolor Whispers: The Traditional Touch

Next, I turn to my watercolor palette, where the fluidity of water meets the vibrancy of pigment. This stage is deeply personal and intuitive, a dance of brush and water on paper. Each stroke, each blend of color, is an expression of emotion, a reflection of the moment captured in my photographs. This traditional approach adds a depth and texture to my work, creating layers of meaning and complexity.

Now, at this point I am creating unique art designs with my own photos and artwork I’ve created but have not finished.

Here is a photo that i took in Venice. Nice right? But let’s face it, there are so many photos out there of Venice, so I decided to go into Photoshop and create a story with it. I took an unfinished watercolor painting, photos of clouds and I got other helpful resources from here ➡

• Color Adjustments: Using Photoshop’s vast array of adjustment tools, I enhance and manipulate the colors to achieve the perfect balance. This might involve intensifying the vibrancy of a sunset captured in a photo or softening the hues of a watercolor background to complement the overall design.
• Digital Brushwork: Photoshop’s brush tool is a vital ally, allowing me to add digital brushstrokes that mimic the look and feel of traditional watercolor. This step is crucial for integrating the elements seamlessly, ensuring that the transition between photo and painting is both natural and enchanting.
• Detailing with Masks and Filters: To refine the artwork, I employ layer masks and filters to add or subtract details, highlight focal points, and create depth. This process is akin to sculpting with light and shadow, adding a dimensional quality to the flat canvas.

I usually work on different pieces at once and try one thing with that and if it doesn’t work i put it in the other opened work in PS. I just keep trying and see what comes of it.
